From 1831 to 1838, the Latter-day Saints were in Kirtland, Ohio. From here came forth more than 70 revelations now found in the Doctrine and Covenants as well as the beginnings of modern Latter-day Saints church government. Temple worship was revealed anew and the building up of Zion began in earnest. It was a period of miracles and Pentecost--a time of struggle and wrenching sacrifice--a period in Church History when many wonderful people joined the Latter-day Saints church and a few left. Joseph Smith's Kirtland, the latest chapter in the History of the Saints television and radio series, will inspire and enlighten serious students of Latter-day Saint history as well as those who want to learn more about the beginnings of the Mormon movement in America
