Mary Bailey (1808-1841), daughter of Joshua Bailey and Hannah Boutwell, was born in Bedford, New Hampshire. She married Samuel Harrison Smith (1808-1844), brother of the prophet Joseph Smith, in 1834 in Kirtland, Ohio. They had four children. She died in Nauvoo, Illinois.
