Summary:

Lily is a vivacious war bride and new mother who leaves war-torn London, where her husband, Charlie, is stationed. She is going to begin a new life on Charlie's family's farm in Canada. The spirited Lily finds herself at odds with her remote, rural surroundings, and struggles to be accepted by Charlie's embittered mother and resentful sister.
