President Wilford Woodruff said that section 76 of the Doctrine and Covenants is "a revelation which gives more light, more truth, and more principle than any revelation contained in any book we read." Elder Melvin J. Ballard called it "the greatest revelation the Lord, Jesus Christ, has ever given to man, so far as record is made."
