Summary:

A recent film school graduate learns that success is fleeting in the Hollywood scene; a group of medical students want to verify for themselves whether or not persons who have been dead momentarily do indeed experience the supernatural phenomena they report; after successfully experimenting on animals in a top-secret research project on invisibility, a defense department scientist decides to experiment on himself and discovers that the procedure cannot be reversed; after a wealthy doctor, his wife, and their daughter are simultaneously kidnapped by a group of serial kidnappers seeking a large ransom, things start to go wrong when the daughter turns out to be asthmatic; an English teacher has a sordid affair with the detective investigating a series of brutal murders in her neighborhood; a journalist with a reputation for celebrity exposes tries to uncover the truth behind the break-up of a famous comedy duo after a woman was found dead in their hotel room.
