Cyrano is a swashbuckling swordsman and poet who believes he will never be loved because of his enormous nose. Loving the fair Roxanne from afar, Roxanne confides in Cyrano her love for Christian, who possesses none of the ability to express himself in matters of the heart. Cyrano acknowledges Christian's love for Roxanne and agrees to help him in his pursuit of the fair lady by providing Christian the words to woe Roxanne. Eventually Roxanne discovers the truth behind the lovely words used to win her heart, and she is reunited with a Cyrano who is now dying.
