Summary:

The song of Hiawatha: celebrates the heroic deeds of the legendary Ojibway Chief on miraculous birth, sent by the Great Spirit to lead his people. The story begins as fur trader Jean Bertrand, a French priest, and a native interpreter canoe through the Lake Superior region in search of Hiawatha. Tribesmen guided them to the lodge of his grandmother, Nokomis, where she and tribal leader lagoo tell Hiawatha's legendary story.

The Pathfinder: This hitoric saga, the fourth in James Fenimore Cooper's series of "Leatherstocking" tales, captures the drama of the struggle between the French and English, with their respective Indian allies, for a contested North American wilderness during the French and Indian war.
