Summary:

Yor, a mighty warrior, knows that he doesn't belong in the primitive world in which he finds himself. He sets out on a quest to learn the truth of his own identity. The only clue to his fleeting memories of another time and place is his gold medallion, a burnished bronze symbol of heaven's fire. When he learns of a desert goddess who supposedly wears the same medallion, Yor decides that he must find her and learn his true identity. Along the way, he encounters ape-men, dinosaurs, and a strange futuristic society with dreams of military conquest.
