Told in a series of blank verse poems, two boys Van (called Vanilla) and Hunter tell of their relationship which began before they were teenagers, but foundered in high school, mostly because Hunter thinks they should be having sex and Vanilla is not so sure.
Van and Hunter have been dating since seventh grade. They came out together, navigated middle school together, and became that couple in high school that everyone always sees as a couple. As their relationship deepens, some cracks begin to show. Hunter thinks they should be having sex. Van isn't so sure. If they're becoming different people, can they be the same couple?
