The Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism, known as the USA PATRIOT Act, was signed into law in October, 2001, with the intention of streamlining government powers and facilitating the War on Terrorism, especially in the expanding use of surveillance and information sharing. In this presentation interviews, commentary, and archival footage are utilized to discuss the effects provisions of this law have on individual privacy and on the civil liberties granted to U.S. citizens by the Bill of Rights.
