Originally produced as a 20-episode motion picture serial in 1914. At a later date the episodes were drastically shortened, and different episodes combined, resulting in the existing nine episode version. Intertitles were translated rather carelessly back into English from a Belgian print sometime during or after World War I, when the villian's name was changed from Owen to the germanic Koerner.
