In 2003, a British businessman made a trip to Putin's Russia. A small amount of hash in his pocket resulted in arrest there. He was refused a translator, denied contact with the British Embassy and beaten by guards while awaiting trial. His nearly two year stay in a frigid labor camp ruined his health. His girlfriend visited and married him during his prison stay. He now lives in London with her and their child.
