Evard starts by describing what clay is used and how to find it. He then describes preparing the clay for use, discusses reasons and techniques for adding temper and illustrates how to make pots using all techniques. Finishing and decorating the green pot are described and illustrated, followed by a detailed discussion of primitive firing techniques.
