Transsylvania, 1784. The Count, overcome by a woman he meets on a coach, marries. His beloved presents the Count with a son before expiring; the boy is named Ferdinand. Ferdinand is shy, a good natured young man, and not very happy to be a vampire. He doesn't want to bite people because he doesn't want to hurt them. So he bites rats and cats. His father becomes a movie star--playing, of course, a vampire--and begins to pursue with a young woman who reminds him his wife. But Ferdinand has also fallen in love with her, and is determined not to let his father get her.
